Grammy's Hands

"Finding and Fulfilling Needs"

A non-profit organization established in 2018 to discover needs in the community and fulfill those needs.

At Grammy’s Hands, we make handmade blankets for the Children’s hospitals in our local area. The blankets provide comfort to the children whether it be by bringing warmth while they rest or by even covering an incubator in the NIC unit.

We also create care packages for the local homeless shelter, 5th Street Ministries. By creating and donating these care packages, we provide hope to those in need. In our packages, we include a blanket, socks, water, food, hygiene products, and even activity books.

We also donate to nursing homes. We collect and donate items such as coloring books, puzzle books, and games bringing light to the residents.

Our organization strives to help the community and touch lives in a positive way.  Check our future Events and Join our mission to Give.

Chief Giver

Hi! My name is Se’Ri Jung. I started Grammy’s Hands in 2018. I wanted to get involved in my community through volunteering in the local children’s hospital however, due to not being of age, I could not. That is how I came up with the idea of making blankets as a way to still bring comfort and a smile to the children without physically being in the hospital with them. Not too long after I started making blankets, I realized that there was a great need within the homeless population. I began to research and found 5th Street Ministries, a local homeless shelter that is also involved with aiding domestic violence victims and transitional housing for families. A close friend’s mother is a physician at the local nursing homes. She reached out to me to see if my organization would be willing to help collect and donate some items for the residents. That is how I got involved with the nursing homes.

Grammy’s Hands is named in honor of the grandmother whom I call “Grammy”. She is one of the most generous and kindest people I know. She has inspired me to go out and do good in my community. She holds a very special place in my heart.
